Widescreen support?

[clarknova]

Just a quick question.
I am in the market for to get one of the latest vid cards.
I have a Dell 2005FPW LCD with a 1600x1050 native resolution.
Do the latest cards all support that resolution?
I am looking to get a 7800 GT but if it doesnt support that resolution its a deal killer.

Thanks

The cards aren't what you should be worried about...they can support 1x1 or 1337x1337 technically. It is the drivers you should worry about, and yes both nvidia and ati all support 1680x1050. There aren't many games out there with true widescreen support however.

The 7800gt definitely should support that res. I would be very surprised if it didn't considering:
1 -- It's a high end card
2 -- Many enthusiasts have that monitor.

LOL My ATI 9600 PRO can support that and more. I am currently running 1900 1200 on my Dell 2405. I know I know dont ask. I have more power on the way lol

Of course it will. Even my lowly 6600GT drives 1920x1200, so 1680x1050 for a 7800GT should be a piece of cake.
