Over the next 4 months as new hardware rolls out I am looking to build a new computer. I'm getting the parts in installments because that's just the way my money to spend on a computer is rolling in right now. Anyways to the chase. First i want to get a good display. I want an LCD that will be used mostly for gaming. I've been reading the forums and talking to a lot of people and I am getting mixed reviews about a lot of monitors and resolution compatabilities. I want to spend 450-550 dollars period. Not going to save an extra 100 or 200 bucks. That's the price range I am willing to spend. I really want wide screen. My laptop is wide screen and I love it. I want quality. I'm not going to get something cheaper I want a quality product. Keep in mind this monitor is strictly for PC use. I have a couple monitors in mind mainly the Dell 2007FPW and the Samsung 215TW. My question of these monitors is the native resolution of 1680x1050. I'm not quiet sure exactly how compatable this reolution is with modern games. I have been told it would be safer to go with something along the lines of a Dell 2007FP for the large display, it being in my price range, and supporting a resolution that is extremely popular. So I am torn. I really want a good quality picture when playing games now and in the coming years and I also really want wide screen, but most of all I want to stay extremely close to my budget. Any advice or pointing me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.
