I've been reading through these posts, i have not paid much attention to the recent display news. I'm looking for a widescreen lcd(nothing too large), that I could also hook up to a hdtv cable box. Just for some bedroom tv in my apartment, but also a monitor. I don't game, so that isn't an issue.

Any recommendations from the experts?

edit: The 2005fw sounds good, but does it have composite inputs for HD from a cable box?

Thanks.

I haven't had the pleasure of HDTV yet, but I do have my cable routed into my VCR for the tuner function. Then I have a composite cable hooked to my 2005fpw (yellow out of VCR, L/R audio routed to receiver). It's not the best, but it beats the hell out of my old 13" TV that was in my office.

I really love the multi-function of these new dell monitors. Currently, I have 2 2005fpw's with my old pc dual out into the VGA ports. This PC is used primarily for surfing and light duty stuff. I recently hooked up my new PC using the dual DVI of the g4 6800 ultra into the DVI ports of each monitor. This new PC is used for gaming, CAD/GIS programming, and soon to be movie editing. I have one of these monitors tapped with the above mentioned composite signal from my VCR for cable TV viewing. So now, I can be using one PC on one monitor and have the other PC on the other monitor... all the while, I can use the PIP function to see the second display of the opposite computer. With a push of the toggle button, I can switch back and forth from any of the above.

Yea, so my 2005's have a bit of backlighting... but where else am I going to get such a kick ass setup with all this great flexibility?

... still would like to get an OTA HDTV Tuner.

hey, thanks so much for the input. I've read through the 50 pages of that 2000fpw, and it does sound like a lot of people were having problems with it, so I think i'm going to wait and keep looking. I also need it to come down in price about 100 bucks.
