widescreen equivalent to 17" 4:3?

I haven't bought an LCD for my main PC yet, believe it or not. I've had this samsung CRT for a few years and thinking I'm going to need an LCD to save some space. What would be the wide screen equivalent of this CRT?

Also does response time matter as much as it used to for gaming? is 5ms fine for newer FPSers?
