Well I just bit the bullet and brought 2490-sv for 1256 shipped. My question is does anyone know why this is pretty much the only 24" ips srgb lcd on the U.S market? or did I miss one?

Probably because people do not want to spend an excessive amount of money on 24" LCD monitors.

The typical consumer basically chooses a monitor based on price over quality. For the most part, general users will not know the difference between TN, VA and IPS even when you hit them over the head with those monitors.

it's just such an odd business decision. there is more than one brand of super car, even in niche markets there is usally more than one player.

it's just odd to think that the market for a 24inch ips-srgb lcd can only support one monitor. Granted it's an awesome monitor, but still it would have been nice to have had a choice.

Well, Hazro are hoping to launch in the states before too much longer (Christmas at the latest), but even over here in the UK IPS monitors are fairly rare beasts - we don't even have the pleasure of the 2490.
