Why would this not fit?

Why would this not fit on my X800? AGP BLOCK

AND are they going to build a newer one that will work or do i have to give up on trying to build a swiftec system?

Could have something to do with the fact that it's made for the ATI 9xxx series of cards and not the X800 series.

My guess is that the mounting holes are spaced differently on the x800 than they are on the 9xxx series.

Graphics card compatibility and retention mechanism
The MCW50™ ships with a dual retention mechanism composed of spring loaded screws providing off-the-shelf compatibility with all ATI® Radeon™ products (including the latest X800 series) as well as nVidia® GForce™ families of products up to the GeForce 4.

Optional hold-down plates are available for nVidia FX, PCX and GeForce 6 series with their respective retention kits as shown below. The product can also be installed with other graphics processors by using permanent bonding agents, such as thermally conductive epoxies. Swiftech guarantees compatibility with ATI and nVidia reference models only.

Spring loaded assemblies feature compression limiters, to prevent over-tightening of the water-block to the graphics processor.

I would imagine that site you are looking at simply has not updated the page to state that it will work on the newer x800 series.

bad ass then my plan to get a swiftec system for my birthday on the 8th of march stands...can not wait :D

seems very odd

I can confirm both my 9800pro and my x800xt have the same mounting holes, ones made by ATI, ones built using ATI
