Everybody's all worried about which video card to get. But, why should we? The x800 pro can run farcry in resolution that my monitor cant even run and even with tons of AA and AF, and the x800 pro is supposedly the low end card of this generation of video cards.

imo id just get whats quickly availible and get great use out of it. Nothings going to slow down these cards in the near or even long term future.

anyway not a flame just my two cents :D

grats to everyone whos getting new cards! :)

Mid-range, actually. ATi doesn't have a low range one. nVidia's is the 6800.

LOL all jokeing aside I do agree with you but its the same thing as starting with 500 HP engine or starting with a 550 and then blowing and chipping it. You'll still be in the same range with booth but one will be faster, and there is aways the slim chance that the extra umph will matter somewhere outside the world of bragging rights.

I for the most part agree with you. If you can't see defint faults in a certin card for what you are doing and might (sensibly) do in the future then there isn't too much about accept getting a good price
