Why can't I start folding? I'm running a E6400,1gb xms ram , 64 Vista, config for large units, EMIII loads correctly, and is displaying:

The program will continue now without having installed itself as a service.
You may bring up this Configuration later by starting the program with

Folding@Home Client Shutdown.

whats up? Says I have to log in from the admin account-I only have this account set up as admin on this computer.

Says you can't start it as a service without being admin. Did Vista come with some kinda service manager protection program?

It looks like after you ran the FAH502-console.exe you closed the window. If you reboot I'll bet it will start back up

Ok, I have now restarted it and left it alone in the toobar. It will run as long as I don't close the toolbar, and EMIII shows good-but I can't toggle it off the toolbar to check stats. I like have to reinstall it every time. Can I check it from another computer?

admin is an account you setup, not administrator.
I'd reload the os and when it come to administrator password , enter one, then you'll be
fine

To install as a service in Vista (becaue of UAP) you have to open a command prompt in administrator mode. What I did was click the start button and type CMD. A CMD item will pop up at the top of the start menu. Right click it and select "Run as Administrator". Go through the UAP dialog.

Once you get a command prompt running go to you FAH folder and type the config command. (e.g. "FAH --configonly" or whatever it is, I don't remember) and go throught the steps making sure to select run as a service or whatever. That should enable you to run FAH as a service.

doesn't matter, in Vista the administrator account is disabled by default, and all users have no administrator priviledges except when UAP is turned off. You are forced to explicitly allow administrative operations via a UAP dialog.

that sucks

No it doesn't, that improves the security, think of it like sudo... It's a good thing really.

I just right-clicked on the FAH-Console and clicked run as administrator, it seems to be working fine.

I guess I'll know at reboot.
