Hi I was wondering why the Sidebar in Windows Vista was removed. The gadgets are still there but that transparent bar that they stay on was taken off. I thought it looked cool. It would be a better idea if there was an option to remove it or leave it on instead of totally removing it. Anyone know weather or not microsoft has plans to re add it?

uuum, in the public beta 2, i believe you can access the sidebar in accessories on the start menu...

in the lastest buld, sidebar is auto-start by default.... i promptly disable that of course

Hi thanks for the input, I assumed that it was removed due to the fact that all of the recent screenshots that I've seen of windows vista show no sidebar. I'm glad to hear that it was never removed :) .

floating widget >> docked widgets anyways

Unless you need to have 50 widgets for some strange reason, then the dock is better for organizing them.
