Because of big companies like Norton that have made a very suscessful busniness model out of the inept security (at firewall, code exploits....) that has been an integral part of MS since day one.


MS should close all possibliltys for attack, but that would put all virus protection companies out of business, thus The new Windows, although touted as the most secure cannot be and wont be
 
Is that like Del Boca Vista from Seinfeld???

No matter what Microsoft comes out with, people who hate them will find a way to infect/exploit it.. if not for the information of the user on the other end, then just as a sick form of amusement.

I'm sure we'll still see patch Tuesdays though!
 
The unfortunate thing, is the flying pigs problem will always exist. If the person wants to see the flying pigs they will do everything in their power that's easy to see the flying pigs. We know this for a fact. Ask the user to enter their login name and password to see the flying pigs, they'll do it in a heartbeat. Until the user becomes educated, the operating system, (no matter which operating system) can make it hard, but the user will always overcome the obstacles.
