Why tornado at 5v beating coolermaster at 12v?

Ok i got my first hair drier, a 80mm sunon tornado pushing 84cfm at 12v. Well that should equal about 30-34cfm at 5v. Now my coolermaster with the hydrowave beerings puts out 32cfm at 12v. Now when i put them on the heatsink, the tornado blows the coolermaster out of the water. Id say about 2x more air is coming out of the heat sink doing the wet hand test. Now thats all fine and dandy but the tornado has this really annoying ring to its noise it puts out and it echos in my head. The coolermaster doesnt make very much noise at all( 25db if i recall). So why would the tornado at 5v keep the cpu at 62c or below, and the coolermaster, thats sopost to have the same output, goes way past 65c and the pc dies and the heat sink is so hot i cant keep my fingers on it after the pc gets shut down. Is there anything i can do to help the little cooler master out? May be a shroud to push it out like an inch from the heat sink to improve its cooling ability? That seems to work on radiators, fan inch away vs mounted directy to the unit.

thats.....complicated....

this makes me wanna attach my 190cfm delta fan to my shuttle for some odd reason.

and here I always thought something bad came out of using "propeller blade" and "attack range" in the same sentence! nice links ice

So basicly if 2 fans have the same cfm but one is spinning 2x faster, it will put out more air flow thru a heatsink. I kinda like the sunon stacking method, seems it doubles the cfm but only in constricted space.

the simplest phenomena become complex when quantified by a physics formula
but yes fluid dynamics is very complicated, which is why Computation Fluid Dynamics Software is employed by OEM Manfacturers, and we resort to trial and error :p

navigate up to the engineering notes at the comair site
and hit the back button at Sunon, lots more links like

almost its interelated with additional variables

I think I can come up with one simple solution to this question:

TORNADOS ARE THE SPAWN OF SATAN

well so much for papa
but who'd be the mother?

hold it the answer is obvious
hot air right?
a politician :p
