Why sudden raise in temps?

I have a q9550 Overclocked to 3.94. I have a sunbeam core contact freezer with a scythe 110cfm 120mm fan on it, artic silver 5, Excellent case cooling.

When I first put it in I was getting idle temps of ~40c and load temps of <60c.

All of a sudden the last few weeks my temps rose like crazy. I rarely see idle of less than 48c and my loads are getting up to 70c. I have checked everything short of removing the HS and reattaching which I was saving for last.

At least half of the time my CPU is idling at 50c. I really don't like that.

So Not liking that I put my CPU back at stock clock and it still was idling at like 45c .

Checked that, all fans are good. One thing that bothers me a lot (and maybe it is just me) is that my core contact never even gets warm. What bothers me even more is I took the fan OFF my heatsink, and my temps didn't change... at all, unless I run orthos then they get hotter at load, but not as much as I would've expected.

At first I thought that was it, because they did, but I opened my window (its about 20f < every day now, and I did at night so it was probably 5-0f) and let the room get colder (If I were to guess the room temp was 45-55f) and my CPU was still idling above 44c.

Check your case air flow. i had same problem i used compressed air and cleaned it. then it was all good.

My Q6600 is doing the same thing. Beats me what's up with it. I think the temp sensors are shot. I used to idle at <30c with an SI-128 cooler, load <50c. Then it started idling in the 40's and loading in the 60's to low 70's. Reseated the cooler a dozen times, still no luck. Bought a Xiggy S1283 and still, same temps. So I don't know. Either the CPU is ready to take a shit or the temp sensors are shot.
