Didnt really have a good thread title but I just wanted to vent.

Where does this guy get off spreading shit like this:

As we mentioned earlier, T2 is a real product, unlike GTX680 which was never actually meant to be real according to Nvidia sources. We have good technical reasons to believe Tahiti 2 will have great yields and ship in more than enough quantity, conversely GTX680 never will.

The GTX 680 was never supposed to be real? Between this and the talk about the degradation of the chip over long term use are these people really that upset that Nvidia came out with such a good product?

Just really aggravates me when people take cheap shots like this. I for one love my GTX 680 and am very glad its real. Just wondering what some other peoples thoughts are on this kind of viral crap coming out.

I guess he could be talking about the idea of the GTX 680 being the GTX 660 part but none the less it is still a little deceiving.

There are rumors that he got punched in the face by an Nvidia rep at some convention. We don't know why, but it is obvious that he is heavily biased. He tries to hide it with his "funny" articles, but when you look at the stuff he writes about, it's pretty clear.
I also think he is paid by AMD in some way. Constantly bashing Intel and Nvidia and praising AMD to high heavens. Just take his Trinity articles for example, they read like an ad for the product. He cannot be objective.
 
Well, he is pretty far on the incendiary end of spectrum in a lot of what he writes and I rarely take it seriously, but in this case, I echo the sentiment. The effects of short supply of the 680 are being felt all across the board: we can't get them up here in Canada any decent quantity, so the ones we do get are marked up 10%, (which are still snapped up quickly and voraciously) 7970 pricing has remained higher than it should possibly as a result (even they're shorter in supply atm), and I can't even go back to old gen because they're not in production anymore and I'd be paying what they were priced at a year ago.

It may not be any one company's fault, whether it be nVidia, AMD, or the retailers, and nothing against people who were lucky enough to get the 680 (where you live and what you have access to plays a part in it too) but damned if I'm gonna be told to shut up and be happy about it.

Yeah I dont want this to turn into a multiple page thread about crap by all means. Just trying to figure out where this guys stands in his article writing and what kind of bias he has.

I guess the days of unbiased news articles are out of the question besides here on [H]ard who seem to do a very good job keeping any kind of bias out of their articles which is much appreciated.
 
I think he has legitimate sources at MSI so he does have insider information, but its pretty obvious that he doesn't like nvidia. I've heard stories about what happened to create that tension but nothing that can be verified.

Where in Canada are you, I'm in Windsor Ont. and I can tell you I got my 3 no problem, as well as about 5 other people I know getting singles or sli set ups. Also, the shop we all shop at is a small independent run business and he has a few on the shelf even.
 
He seems much like the rest of AMD marketing. Just think of him as Fox News for AMD fans.
 
Ha Fox News. Thats a whole different story right there. Sounds like this semiaccurate guy and tweaktown might get along well. Pretty sure Nivida isnt too fond of them either for releasing their review of the 670 before NDA lifted.

SemiAccurate is a rumor mill site and Charlie is well known for hating team green. He said the GTX680 would get slapped around by a 7970 but hasn't spoken a word regarding performance since the card has come out.

Don't bother with that site.

... and I kept looking for his response once 680 shipped but it never came.

I think Charlie is an intelligent guy who does have good information, but like many others say, his subjective opinions make it difficult to like him.
