i have about $150 cash laying around from my birthday, and im looking to purchase an older computer. i dont know why really, i just have the urge. i guess i could have my internet come through that, use it as a firewall, and then send the internet to my main computer. or i could try to get a deal on a big harddrive and use it as a server. what are some good uses for a 2nd computer?

Dude, screw wasting money on a useless system. Purchase an airsoft GBB pistol instead. Hell of a lot more fun than a crappy computer and it'll have some actual use.

Save your $150 and use it for a future upgrade that is NECESSARY rather than blow it on nothing.

I agree: Save the money, or buy something that you actually need or want to have, not just scrap comp systems.

second computers have a lot of great uses, but not for $150. im typing on my second computer right now while i play FFXI online. anyway, for $150 you arent gonna get anything good. most likely you will end up with a headache that will give you more problems than assistance, so dont waste the money.

Depends where you look. I got a Celly 1 Ghz, a Soyo board, and 512 Mbs of SD RAM for $100 from a friend. Tossed it in a case with other stuff I have laying around, and I had a decent machine. Secondary's are very nice to have. A nice silent, stable machine you use for internet stuff, then fire up the beast for gaming, and other tasks.

$150 will not get u a computer that you want to keep
use that money towards a nice upgrade or save up for something
OR...you could spend that money on a nice MP3 Player, or a decent Digital Camera...
