Why me? Dell problem

Hey guys.

I recently bought two 2005FPW's because of the reviews, and most of all Dell's service in waranty's, and replacements.

So I get my two, which suffer from numerous dead pixels, and horrible backlight. So being I spent over a grand on this, I want to get two replacements for them. So I be as polite as possible, and explain I'd like two new replacements due to these issues.

Today I get an e-mail saying "Dead pixels are a natural defect of LCD technology. For any other monitor problems, please trouble shoot here (link)".

What is up with that? Has anyone gotten this type of response when asking for replacements? I just sent back a not so polite response, explaining either they replace it, or give me a full refund . . Is that the key? Do you have to threaten them of returning the monitors for them to actually "help" you? This is the second time I've been turned down by their tech support on this monitor . .

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. I told my dad what great service Dell has, now if we can't get replacements . . he'll kill me!

Thank you guys.

Jnick

Keep emailing and calling them eventually you'll get someone who will replace both monitors..

yeah, thats rediculous, keep bugging the hell out of them and eventually you will win. yeah, sure dead pixels are a common defect, but to actually get 2 with the defect is beyond the normal number of defective lcd moniors, and beats the hell out of me why you actually did get 2 with defects. dell needs to fix their shit right now. 2 defective monitors? man, dell needs to be recalled.

theres a whole freakin thread on the 2005 stating the numerous problems. why do ppl continue to buy these stupid things?!?! honestly.... i have never heard of so many problems w/ one product than the 2005.

are ppl really this stupid to go out and spend +500$ on a monitor that is crappy on almost every single order?!??

it really disgusts me how all these ppl go out and buy the 2005, even [H] members, and then complain about their monitor is crap!!! EITHER YOU GUYS CANT READ, OR YOU HAVE WAY TOO MUCH MONEY TO BURN RIGHT NOW INSTEAD OF WAITING FOR A NEW AND BETTER MONITOR!!!!!

There are a lot, if not more, people that recieved a perfect monitor. Including myself. Why are you so mad about it? It's not your money and if your tired of all the threads about it don't read them.

I agree. I received a perfectly working 2005 with no dead pixels and no backlight problem. So, don't read the posts and don't call [H] members stupid!

yah dude..im sorry your 17inch "wide screen" monitor is not doing it for you..but chill

Dell service IS NOT good (plus you pay a premium for it).
These monitors do not have a great track record.

As for your problem, there's not much you can do except continually leaving them messages until a real representative deals (helps haha) with you. How many pixels are dead? If it is just under the accepted threshold (I don't know what it is for Dell), I know it can be frustrating. You could always "create" a few more dead ones but that is dishonest *cough*

I purchased one the first week they came out. I had a red line down the left side , called for a replacement and it had backlight issues. Called for a refund and they said ok, UPS never showed up to pick up so now I have 2 of them untill the call me or come pick them up. It has been over a month and a halve already.

I wouldn't stand for that after shelling out so much money. Call Dell and explain that you will call your credit company to charge back the amount unless it's repaid you in full or replaced with non defective monitors. If that doesn't work go ahead and call your credit card company or bank and explain the situation. They'll call Dell with you on the phone and sort it out for you.

did i do anything to you?? go shove your dick into someone else's ass.

i was venting because it disgusts me how not only how a manufacturer continues to produce a faulty product, but how ppl continue to buy it. its just pisses me off when people either get ripped off or have to go through a load a crap to get something working.

if ppl would just buy a different/better monitor, the extra money is well worth not going through horrible customer service. or they could just wait for a new/working revision.

A month and a half! You checked your credit card statement latly, They state if they dont get them back you will be charged. Didnt you get shipping labels from them to send them back? All you have to do is call the carrier and they come and get them.

I called tech support and it had to be one of the easiest returns for replacement so far. As long as I get my new one. I didnt have the serial number yesterday and he told me he would call me back the next day to get the serial number. He called me at the exact time he stated he would. I was very impressed. I was expecting to have to call them again. My experience for work/home has been great with Dell service. I dont know of many companies that also pay to have the old one shipped back either. Just call them on the phone. I do admit though the first one I got a hold of didnt have a clue and transfered me to a closed dept. for some reason.
