Why do they make video cards so all the goodis are mounted face down? My eVGA carda has a nice fan shroud art but it faces down where its not visible?

They want the heatsink and fan sending hot air to the bottom of the case where a lot of hot stuff isn't located as opposed to hot air being sent over top of the CPU. It's all in the ATX spec.

Strict standards have to be kept in the desktop world. The first video cards were made this way so subsiquently all video cards are now made this way. Though If you really wanted to you modify your case to be WTX, which means the motherboard is flipped upside down. This is said to better cooling and will also allow you to see the top (really bottom) part of the video card. Alternatively it looks like they now sell WTX cases.

to put it plainly its not... WTX is as far as a i know is upside down ATX..

BTX is somehting different that intel created, supposedly better at cooling than ATX

BTX has a single exhaust solution for blowing air over the CPU heatsink fins and out of the back. There are other tweaks in it as well.

Lian-Li V1000 cases are WTX I believe.
