Why Is My New EVGA GTX 285 SSC 3DMark06 Score (11,000 Points) So Low?

I have a Q6600 clocked at a stock 2.40GHz and 8.0GB of Corsair Dominator Memory clocked stock at 5-5-5-15 2T 2.20 volts 1066MHz FSB and using Microsoft Vista Ultimate SP1 64 Bit Edition.

I just upgraded from a 2x 8800GT SLI to 1x GTX 285 SSC. With my SLI 8800GT setup I was only running 4 gigs of memory and I scored a 17,000 average in 3DMark06 and with the single GTX295 setup and 8 gigs of memory I am only scoring 11,000 average.

What am I doing wrong? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance! :)

Pictures don't work, is it a gtx 295 or 285? Might be some driver settings. My two gtx 280's get 25k so my guess is you should be seeing 16k or so.

^ pictures work for me and it's a EVGA GTX 285 SSC

and I have the newest driver's that just came out 182.06 and when I installed my new graphics card I took out all the old hardware and re-formatted my entire computer with all the new drivers and etc.

benchmark with some games you actually play - see if the loss is universal or just to 3dmark 06.

Because 3dmark06 is a piece of crap? Seriously, play a game and report back. 3dmark a bunch of junk.

That's not a normal score, and while 3dmark06 is pretty useless, it helps to sometimes indicate a problem...

It could be a driver issue, since you just swapped out two 8800GT's for the 285.

I would think that you are being CPU limited maybe? Crank up the clock speeds.
