Why is my eee pc 900a malfunctioning?

When I start my asus I get the starting system screen and then an little x (pointer?) and then the screen goes blank and blinks on and off.
A while back I came to the conclusion that I had a bad ssd and I was wondering if you guys thought that as well, or is it something else?
 
better to ask that question on the notebook review forums, they are notebook experts
