I am setting up a new Athlon64 system, and have the MSI nForce3Ultra with the Athlon64 3500+

Well I have two sticks of Samsung DDR400 512mb, so I put them in like I did my 875P Intel system, meaning 1 stick in dimm1 and the 2nd in dimm3, which are both green, and dimm's 2+4 are purple, are both empty.

Well in POST it says I am running singlechannel, at 200mhz ? Should it say dualchannel ?

Problem solved. :) If you mean the MSI K8N Neo2 nForce3 board, put them in DIMM 1 and 2 for dual channel mode.

The manual is confusing.

Good luck.
