Why high Kernel Usage?

I have two boxes...both running server 2003, dual xeon core duo's.

IIS Box

SQL Box

Why does the IIS box's kernel times follow the CPU time so closely while the SQL box's kernel times stay relatively flat at the bottom?

Anyone know the answer?

Does anyone know why the kernel usage follows the cpu usage so closely on the IIS box?

The IIS box was getting alot of uploads and a fair amount of web activity at the time.

Any input?
