My hard drives are pretty much almost accessing. Not constantly, just intermittent flashes. And it's not a virus - fresh install of Winders. Now, I've got the desktop rig in the sig. Any tips? It's not like my computer is working 24/7, it would be nice if once in a while my HDs turned off so that they were no longer hot enough to cook on.
 
What do you have your pagefile set at?

And have you setup your power options in the control panel?
