i have a sony cdrw 40x/32x.

and i have to say it stinks ass! it gave me corrupted 3 corrupted cds out of 7 burnt ones. the most recent one has a cyclic redundancy error or something like that.

i burn it at 40x with cds that are rated for 48x max.

why is this? my writer has buffer underrun protection, which was the killer for my last cdrw... I HATE BURNING! ahrrrggg

do you have DMA set? is the Roxio / Adaptec .dll installed (usually done when you upgrade Media Player).

i dunno if this would help u but i have the nforce chipset, and those drivers DO NOT get a long with nero. I had to use an after market chipset driver to get my TDK to work. I have to do this everytime i format.

- hmm, i do use nero, and i do have an nforce 2. so will another program work?

whats a dma? i don't have roxio or adaptec programs, but i did upgrade media player... how do i check?

and can my high burning speed be the culprit? i have generic mitsumi cds and burning them at 40x, and 38x, the two highest settings the damn cd drive supports. cds are rated at 48x max tho.
