Why do you upgrade?

Hello,

So i come to the conclusion.. that i upgrade for the fun of it, playing video games is just something i do so that all the continueous upgrades i do, won't seem like a waste of money.. lol

I mean the truth is.. i get more pleasure out of just opening my case and upgrading, and messing around with things, than i do with being able to play all the latest games with all the eye candy...

what about you?

Usually because I can afford it...I haven't upgraded in a loooong time :(

I upgade when my computer can no longer do what I need it to do well. And when I do upgrade, I tend to go a little overbord. The last system lasted 4 years with no major changes.

because i needed a new toy to play with and my old 440bx wasnt getting any newer.

I'm the same way too. I can play every game I want to just fine but I'm still buying upgrades and opening up my case every month.

The ironic thing about this behavior is that, because of my constant upgrading, I don't have enough money left to buy games to play!

Because Adobe or Macromedia software takes too long to do anything.

......new HSF with 5 degree lower temps.....$55.00
......new 6800GT....$430.00
......handing your buddies their asses in game, then watching their eyes bug out when they see your system whip theirs at higher resolution than they thought was even possible....priceless...

That's why.....:D

Rock On - B.B.S.

^^^^ LOL :)

When a package comes and inside is the new motherboard you ordered, and you're actually somewhat excited.

Then spend quite hours carefully putting it all together, then hit that power button for the first time and....it starts!!

Oh the Joy! :p

What sucks .. is when it doesn't start... i just get full of rage...

Upgraded because my 486 just wasn't giving me the kind of performance I wanted out of Doom 3, FarCry, UT2004, etc :p

It's a sport man.

I upgrade whenever I get to the point: "holy crap why's this taking so long?!?!"

this thread gave the reassurance that I’m still sane.. Thank you ALL !!!! :D

Looking back, I clearly see
What it is, that's killing me
Through the eyes, I wanna know
I see a vision, once let go
I had it all
Constantly it burdens me
So hard a choice, I can't believe
I lost the faith, I lost the love
But when the day is done

Will they open their eyes
And realize, we're one
On and on, we stand alone
Until our day is gone
When they open their eyes
And realize, we're one

I love the way you feel today
Now I know the sun will fade

Darker days seem to be
What will always live in me
But still I run
It's hard to walk this path alone
Hard to know which way to go
Will I ever stay the same, will it ever change?

Will they open their eyes
And realize, we're one
Still the pain we carry on

I know our day will come
Will they open their eyes
And realize, we're one

Will they open their eyes
And realize, we're one
(It's hard to walk this path alone)
(Hard to know which way to go)
When they open their eyes
And realize, we're one
(We lost the faith, we lost the love)
(But when the day is done)
Will they open their eyes
And realize, we're one
