System in sig.
Odd problem with this mobo. If I take it from 'stock' and set the HTT clock to 250mhz in the BIOS...it won't POST. Won't warm or cold boot. From where it is "now" - 233mhz HTT clock, if I set it to 250mhz....still won't POST.
If I set it to 240mhz, though (which I can do even from the stock BIOS-cleared settings), it works fine. And if I boot at 240mhz, and enter the BIOS, I can change the clock right to 250mhz with no problems. Indeed, all the way to 260mhz seems to work.
Until I shut the system *down* again, anyway. It won't cold boot at anything past 240mhz HTT clock. But once I've made that jump from 'something' to 240mhz HTT...the sky is the limit from there.
I've seen this problem mentioned before with other motherboards - is there any "known" cause to this or solution? Since I'm on an ATI Xpress200 motherboard, there are no clock generation tools I can use from inside Windows - what the BIOS can set the clock speeds to is all I can use.
