I'm currently on stock vcore and Ive read bunch of reviews where the author's did not even reach 900mhz.

I'm running Kombustor and stable 915/1325 1.100v.

Havent seen any artifacts but a bit worried increasing too much as it seems to be unormaly good OC at stock volts.

How long does need to run kombustor and are there any tiny artifacts I could be missing?

I'm running kombustor 1920*1080 8xMSAA GPU BURN-IN
 
Force +20 in powertune and see if it's stable, you need to enable amd overdrive to do this. Also make sure you watch your temps as you do all of this. The reason I ask you to try this is because power tune will throttle your card's core speed up and down to keep the tdp under control. If you bump the powertune it should lock you core speed at 915mhz after the first 10 seconds kombuster is run. This is when you know for sure that a clock speed is stable.

If your still stable at +20 you have a very good set of cards. I'd try each one and find their max stability before you have to crank the voltage. I always go for max overclock and up the voltage but if you dont like adding voltage you can find the weaker link between the two cards and clock both about 10mhz below what the weaker of the 2 cards can't.

I have the same cards as you do. Do you use power boost? I run 900/1375 @ 1120 with 20% power boost. I too worry that although it's a nice overclock and it seems stable, that I might be doing damage. Screw it I say. This is first time i've had an uber-rig....run this beast into the ground. ;).
 
It actually failed in Heaven the pixels got distorted and it froze, had to push reset button on PC.

Ive run 900/1250 to see stable core, maybe I'm imagining things but almost as if I saw artifact or darkening of screen at 900, same thing at 905, I could be imagining seeing artifacts.

I'll now run 800/xxxx to see maximum memory and after finding that out I'll run max core/memory and see if it is Heaven 2.5 DX11 stable.
 
correct me if I'm wrong, but as long as volts are stock and temps are under control I think you can run the clock off the cliff without hurting anything.

its overvoltage and heat that damage stuff, too much speed and it just crashes...no big deal
 
Those DiRT3 cards must be nice clockers. My reference cards don't run nearly that well, require more voltage for your same clocks. Good job!

Now once you get it bench stable, crank up Metro 2033 to the max, and see if it still is stable ;)

Yeah I turn power on to pc and enavle Overdrive and powertune to 20%, then I close catalyst window.
Start TRIXX + GPU-Z, load 900/1250 profile.

I run Heaven and it was stable, I'll now find the stable memory and after that try 900/MAXmemory.

Sometimes games like Dirt3 feel "unsmooth" I don't know if I'm imagining it or if the powertune is not active or if the cards simply need more volts.

You could probably up your RAM to at least 1325, maybe 1350. Don't take my word for it though. hmm...let me run Dirt 3 and see how smooth it is for me. I get like 250 fps. in TF2....smooth as butter...but then again it should be. Heaven runs well for me too maxed out with no AA and normal tess. When the framerates drop below 30 fps., usually there is some microstutter. It comes with the territory. I am crossfiring to make sure games like BF3 run super-smooth with high to moderate settings. At your res., maybe you should turn a few settings down? It should be nice and buttery then.

In addition to the questions just asked by the poster before, how did you go over 1.3v? That seems to be the limit in trixx, afterburner etc.. I know about afterburner voltage unlock but I was under the impression that the voltage doesn't work over 1.3v even though you set it above it still just stays at 1.3v. Is this not the case anymore?
