Why can't I break 270FSB???

I'm starting to get annoyed... grrr :)

I have Ballistix pc 3200 3 3 3@2.7 - 2.8v. I've used a divider and they go at least 350FSB. I have a Kn8 SLI and the board goes to 350 al I tested to. (as a matter of fact any board I use I'm getting stuck here at the 270's.)

HT link is fine 3x.
I've moved the SATA to port 3 + 4
PCI is @33
PCI-E is 100 or 101
Temps are fine @ high 40' s when I did 1.6 on cpu reached 50
Ram temp fine
Bridges are fine
Power Supply is a dual 500w good
I don't know what is up?

I've used various cpu's but it's alwasy the same thing. I've upped the voltage all the way to 1.5 - 1.5+ and still I can't get much higher than maybe 280's stable.

WHAT GIVES?!?!?! :(

All the boards but the Biostar were able to do 270 prime stable for a while some more than 8 hours.

Only one that I was able to get to 280 and it was on stock ABIT AN8 SLI... maybe boards can break past the 270's?

Bumped voltage on your mem? Running at 2T? Chipset voltage bumped?
Just a couple ideas... :)

Thanks

I've tried increasing the voltage on the chipset, cpu, ht link everything. The ram is Ballisitx and it doensn't react to well to V. I tried anyway and using a divider it still doesn't break the 270's when the chip is at 10x multi.

Weird...

I used eclipse' guide and found that the board, current KN8 SLI, goes to 350 and the ram had no problem running at 333 divider getting there. Ran prime for a while so it can't be the memory.

I've tried AMD 3k and various Opty 146's... have no clue what is going on. I know 270 is a nice OC but just want to know why I can't break this 270's area.

I solved my problem of breaking 280Mhz by going 2T on my Ultra-D. At 1T and 1.6V (chipset V) I just couldn't break 280-285Mhz fsb. Now i can go 315+ (have not tested above 315 yet)

Hmmm

I just find it strange. I've tried various cpu's. About 5 146's and one 3000+. None can I go past 270... I must be doing something wrong...

I just find it weird that at 333 @ 3-3-3 the ballistix were able to get to 350fsb... with a cpu the system wont go past 277ish stable.

I increased the Vcore a bit and I'm breaking the 270's but not by much. I was able to do 290 but at 1.6 and it wasn't stable. I'm waiting for a fan so I can't put my Zalman in. Omce that is in we'll see how much voltage I can increase.
