why are there different prices on dell 2407s on the dell site?

For 600 bucks I highly doubt you'll find a better monitor. Highly. However it would be wise to peruse the 2407 threads and see if you can live with the problems it has.

If you don't plan to use component though, I don't think you can go wrong at that price though.
