Why are the times wrong?

I just had my post deleted because its showing the wrong time on the top of the post.

It is currently 5:45EST and the post is showing 4:45EST. whats up with that?

For some reason, even though you had "Automatically detect DST settings" checked, the "Is DST currently in effect" box said no in your user control panel, so I fixed it for ya. ;)

But how would that cause your post to be deleted?

I'm at work so I wonder if that had anything to do with it...........

Actually, the time zone settings are local to your machine. All times (no matter whose post) would be in the same time zone for you.

We have our machines at work set a little different. We are working with Zulu time
(Universal Coordinate Time) and its showing it as 2155Z...so maybe that is the problem.

The reason my post was deleted was because before I left for work at 10am EST I posted a bump on my FS/FT thread....then at 4PM I wanted to bump it....being that it was 6 hours later I bumped it....but the time was wrong on the post so it got deleted by a mod.

I bumped it at 4 something but it was posted as 3 something.....does that make any sense?

i did look
my clock is fine and the time on the forum is fine
you bumped at 11:24 and then at 4:28, thats 5 hours
Locutus

also no matter if the times are wrong, 6 hours is still 6 hours

dude you have no idea what you are talking about.

the original post was done at 10:24AM EST before I left for work. It would be impossible for me to post at 11:24AM unless I got the internet installed in my car on the way to work. It was bumped again at 4:28PM EST which would be 6 hours later.

Would u like to continue to argue this?

**Again, it is 6:11PM EST right now and it is showing 5:11PM on the post.**

LOL, I've never heard of "Zulu time". When I said local to your machine, I meant via your user control panel for the forum. It would be confusing if every post showed the local time according to the time zone each member posted in.

Anyway, mystery solved. When those FS/T mods say six hours, they mean six hours. :p

alkoholik, let's not argue here. I looked and can confirm it was 5 hours. I'm in Pacific time, original post shows at 8:24am, next as 1:28pm.
