I have a cheap Enlight case (7327 or something, I don't recall) and a 1600+ AXP on a Gigabyte 7-DXR+ (poor college student alert!). Now, I was always getting high temps with this CPU since I bought it, but never had any stability problems. I had a Volcano 6cu+ on it, but the fan was too noisey so I replaced it with a larger fan. Still had stability problems, so I bought an SLK-900A, an all copper monster. I still get temps idling around 60 to 65 degrees C. I've tried reseating the HS on the CPU with no change in temps. I'm using some Arctic Silver (3, I believe).
For case ventilation I have an 80mm intake fan, my PS exhaust fan and another 80mm exhaust fan. My temp right now are 67* C for my CPU with about 25% load on it.
So how should I start cooling this thing down? I have another case that has a lot more fans on it I'm thinking of transferring all my stuff into, but that's kind of a PITA and black case + beige drives = no. But stability sure wouldn't hurt!
