Why are CPU Bottled at Low Res?

So I was wondering if someone could explain to me in fairly laymens terms why the CPU will get more bottlenecked when playing games at a lower resolution and not so much a bottleneck when in higher resolutions.

It actually doesn't; it's just that games become more CPU dependent at lower resolutions.

Think of it this way: a video card's performance will increase as you lower the resolution because there are less pixels to fill; whereas, with a cpu, performance doesn't increase because physics processing (and other things that the cpu is responsible for) remains the same no matter what resolution you're playing at. So at lower resolutions, the limitations of a CPU become most apparent.
