Why a Dothan?

I was browsing the XS forums, and people really seem to love their Dothans. Is there anything special about the Dothan line's architecture? Because those people have them around 2.7GHz and are quite proud of it. From my experience, Intel processors have to be at least 4GHz to keep up with AMD's line. What's the deal with those Pentium M's?
 
pentium-m's are clock for clock BETTER than opterons/a64's.

and dothans have 2mb cache

its the pentium 4's ONLY that need 4ghz+ speeds to be decent

pentium-m's are a whole different chip

I need a laptop, and its a tossup between a Dothan and a Sempron for the processor. Sadly, I can't find a good Turion notebook.

ahh.. yeah.. pentium-m is the way to go then. thought you wanted to replace your desktop or make another..

p-m's @ 2.5 are pretty kick ass.
 
Why I like my Dothan, currently idling at 28C. Full Load: 33C. Heatsink: stock CT-479 heatsink, and it's really nothing special (looks about the size of a retail Athlon XP heatsink.)
