Does anybody have a guide/tutorial to getting uTorrent to run on WHS? I've got it running fine but it seems it only comes on when I remote desktop in the server. Then the RSS feeder kicks on and uTorrent starts DLing. I'd rather have uTorrent always on. I want to be able to reboot my server and when it comes back online, I know uTorrent is active.

Any help?

Thanks!

Check the options, Should be a area where you can select to run at startup ;)

here you go, found on yahoo answers:

Open Utorrent press ctrl + P, then preferences will popup

In the right u have an option called START UTORRENT ON START check that and your problem is solved

I think he is looking to run uTorrent as a service, and not a startup item.

^^from first post

Making it run on startup would make it run all the time. unless his server goes into sleep mode. Then does anything work?

Did it work for you after a restart? I tried to get mine running as a service, following that guide a while back, but it never worked for me. I finally just created a Bittorrent user (with limited permissions) and resigned myself to remotely logging in as Bittorrent (utorrent is set to autostart on login) and then closing the remote connection. Ugly, but effective.

You can set WHS to auto login as your Bittorent user acct when starting up. That'll save you from having to remote into it, especially if it restarts from an update and doesn't tell you.

I did a combination of that link provided and auto login my admin account (for the time being. I'll create a bittorent account later on) and I think between those two actions, I'm covered.
