Motherboard Asus P5N SLI
CPU Intel X6800
Memory 8GB Corsair
Nic Intel Pro/1000 MT Dual Port

For some reason W7 and WHS do not want to let me connect to my network with this nic. Linux (Ubuntu) does no problems and even allows bonding with no problems.

I am very frustrated at this point with Windows.

Any suggestions?
 
What do you mean by "unidentified" in the title and what do you mean by "do not want to let you connect to my network"?
 
Funny, I had an issue like this this card on an X58 motherboard. I couldn't get it to work in the PCI-E 4x slot on the bottom, but it did work on the 8x slot in the middle...

Have another PCI-E slot to stick it in?

Win 7/WHS 2011 is unable to identify the network so it will not accept input from the router. If I put in a static IP that is unused and available on the network then it blocks access to the network and internet even if the firewall is disabled. It's part of MS's idea of "securing" your network so you don't connect to an unfriendly, IE Spoofed, network by accident. Great feature if connecting via Wireless but not if connecting via wired IMO.

Sadly I don't. Video card and Raid Controller are taking up the top 2 slots. I may just start saving up to upgrade the hardware. I want to upgrade the server to an i7 anyways due to VM usage and what not.
