I've had a WHS system running on an old 2003 PC gaming build
Currently I have
Mid tower Lian Li case
3.0 ghz P4
Some RAM
Radeon 9800 all in wonder (AGP)
Power supply that would drive a P4 board.
The problem is that this setup only provided 2 SATA connections. And it's SATA I at that. I want more/faster slots for expandability (and power savings hopefully)
1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc
Windows Home Server
2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?
Cheap as possible while using reliable parts. <300 is the goal.
3) Which country do you live in? If the U.S, please tell us the state and city if possible.
Pensacola, FL
4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, RAM, case, etc. The word "Everything" is not a valid answer. Please list out all the parts you'll need.
I'm figuring: CPU/MB/RAM/video card?/power supply?
5) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing? Please be especially specific about the power supply. List make and model.
Case, hopefully power supply, I doubt I can re-use video card
6) Will you be overclocking?
No need
7) What size monitor do you have and/or plan to have?
No need
8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC?
In/during next month
9) What features do you need in a motherboard? RAID? Firewire? Crossfire or SLI support? USB 3.0? SATA 6Gb/s? eSATA? Onboard video? etc.
Onboard SATA.
10) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license? If yes, what OS? Is it 32bit or 64bit?
WHS v1.
Thanks!
