Who is happy with his current "used to be high-end now low-cost" video card?

I mean, I got my 9700pro back when it was the it thing and was untouchable and have not upgraded since.

I am pretty happy with it considering how long it has been serving me. :)

I am more happy on the fact that the next time I splurge on a high end video card, it would be justifiable, hence no "spending guilt". :D

I plan on upgrading early next year. By then, I would have had the card for well over 4 years.

Anyway, who is happy? ;)
 
I have the same card, but have only had it for a year. Wish I got it earlier. I am actually already considering upgrading because I need my eye candy and 6xFSAA.
 
I got the 9700pro when it first came out. Paid like $400 for it, which was an obscene price for a video card back then. But considering that I used it until recently, the value is hard to beat.
Recently I put out $800 for two 6800GTs. Some people would say the price is insane. But I am set for the next few year. I just hope I don't spend $1600 on my next video system.

I will probably not upgrade my VC until a bit after the ATi R520s come out. I'm still running a Ti4400 (oc'd, of course), and pretty well satisfied with it.

Right now, any upgrade on my VC would be lost by the pure crappiness of the rest of the system. My upgrade path is core system, then VC.

im happy, now that i ordered my x800xl to replace my 9800pro....cant wait till it gets here...
 
I got my card a good 4, maybe 5 years ago.

Funny thing is, it wasnt even high end when I got it ($100CDN)....

hehe... I only paid $299 from someone having drivers issues and did not want to bother with it.
It installed on my system without a single problem. :)

I know the next generation cards (well as always) will be real bad ass cards.
I mean with dual core, that would be some serious upgrading as I will upgrade the whole system.
 
I upgraded to my 6800OC from an FX5200, so I cant really relate with you right now. I wish I had upgraded to a 9600xt or something in that price range a year ago so when I upgraded to my current card, my old one would still have some value left in it.
 
I'm happy I got my 9700pro for $272.00 about 2 years ago. It runs all of todays game at 30-80fps with pretty much everything turned up. :cool: I will most likely go SLi this summer.....maybe
