my computer just made a noise, it sounded like the HD going off but it wasn't cause I could still here the HD and then all the colors compeltely [censored] and went purple and it wouldent respond to any shutdown keys, so I had to use the comps reboot button.... Seems fine now.. any ideas what the [censored] happened?
 
Sounds like a powersupply going out. Not enough power to the video card makes things look funky. It happened to me when I had a 9800pro. What kind of psu do you have? mobo, and video card?

It might be, although I've only had this system for like, 8 months or so. It's never happened before and I only had one window open when it happened so... :confused:
 
Anychance you can find another psu to try? Might first guess is the psu. If its hardware. It could be a corrupted driver due to spyware or virus?? Maybe. Thats only things I can think of. Sorry I cant be more help. Has it only happened 1 time?

Well it only happened once so it would be kind of hard to know if the other PSU fixed things or not.
