Who sets BIOS beep codes?

I have a problem, and am trying to determine what my BIOS beep codes are. I have an abit, but abit relies on their uguru LED display to POST codes. But my problem remains since I supposedly pass, according to the LED display. But the beeping says differently. (and so does my monitor and floppy drive) If I'm not mistaken, someone (like award) sets the beep codes. How do I determine the code system for my computer, because Abit doesn't seem to help in that direction. I suppose they think their POST LED display is enough.

I hope this is the right thread

so what beeps are you getting & what's up with your monitor & floppy?

I think if you call Abit, they will be able to help you a lot. I tried calling them once, and it actually solved my problem (turns out my cpu pins were bent... whoda thunk?).
But before you waste your time being on hold with Taiwan, what are the beep codes youre getting?
