I pre-ordered mine from Chumbo yesterday for $485.49 and free FedEX 2-day shipping. I checked Chumbo's site today and they have since taken the X850XT PE off it.

Do you think this is a good or bad sign? Stupid ATI better finally actually release some video cards after the stunt they pulled with the X800XT PE. I wont be a happy camper if i have to sit around and wait two or three months to get my card.

I'm not too worried about it really. I jumped on this because it was a hell of a price and i need a PCI-E card in the next month or so. If i dont get it then i also have an X800XL on pre-order from ATI. If i do get the X850XT PE then i'll have the fastest video card on the market for a while. But if i dont get ither of these cards after the bullshit ATI just did with the X800's then ATI is going to have at least one pissed off customer thats going to seek out some vengeance in the video card forums lol.

If some of you guys thought i bashed ATI too much before you just wait till they screw me over! lol :p

somehow I don tthink the x850 will be the fastest for too long, judging by how long ago the architecture came out. Nevertheless you will have a screeaming fast card, so best of luck to you.

It will be the fastest for at least a day and thats all that matters to me :).

I preordered one, but I canceled and then placed an order for two pci-e 6800 gt's. I had a hard time finding a good price for them. I found them for $450 each.

I preordered one from PCMall, they charged my card twice and cancelled the order. It was a pain in the ass dealing with them subsequently.

It doesn't seem like the X850XT PE is as popular to pre-order as the X800XT PE was. Is it because its only marginally faster or is it because so many people got screwed over last time?

Come on now bg, I know you didn't miss all those SLi benchmarks...the x850xtpe will always be playing second fiddle to a pair of 6800GTs...

Yea i know 2 6800GT's would probably be a little faster but two PCI-E 6800GT's would cost nearly twice as much and i'd only see the performance from SLI in games that support SLI.

I also like the 6xAA support on the ATI cards because 8xS is awesome but its not very playable in GPU intensive games.

I buy new hardware ever few months anyways so i thought i'd try something different after having an XFX 6800GT already. I can always sell it for profit if i change my mind because i know ATI wont be able to get these things out in any kind of large quantity. I just hope i actually get one from Chumbo in a few weeks.

I'm a little reluctant to jump on the SLi bandwagon myself...I'm thinking this time next year nvidia will have much broader game support...and a new core...just think...next year, you'll be able to play just about any game at 16x12 with 8xS...using quad nv50s...muahahahaha...

I fucking love video cards...lol

Yeah but them next year we will have Unreal3, and Quake4 using an enhanced beefed up Doom3 engine. So you will need an Nv50 just to be able to play them normally

I just got my 6800 Ultra and I could have sworn I read about it last april

LoL at this rate by the time they get NV50s into peoples hands They will probably have Unreal 4 or Quake 5 ready for release :D
