hollywood studios? thinking analog or digital editing, capture, cameras, making the films they send out to movie theaters, that kind of stuff

So far I can only think of companies like panavision, arri, or mackie. But there has to be more.

There are tons of video production gear companies and what not.

Really depends on what you are looking at specifically as well, different companies are better at different things.

Some quick examples of just some I know from a local studio:

Sony
JVC
Panasonic
Sennheiser
Port-a-brace
Blonder Tongue
Autoscript
Sachtler

Note that names you know like Sony, JVC, Panasonic, etc. that I listed above have hi end professional production equipment divisions that are very separate from the consumer stuff.

Things can get expensive quick as well, a lot of the production gear is tens of thousands of dollars for very small parts of the whole picture
