High-end boutique computer fans...80mm and 120mm

Super quite, lots of airflow, dual ball bearing, adjustable speed, etc.

So far I have been using Enermax. Anyone else???

For the ultimate expensive boutique super special fans: http://www.veraxfans.com/

I have never used or seen one, but have heard some good stuff about them. An 80mm runs about $55

Otherwise, Panaflo is excellent, as is Yate Loon.

Does anyone have the dBa, CFM and RPM on Panaflos? Specifically 80mm? I've got 4 and I love them but I'm skeptical of what they'r rated at.

Panaflo do seem to be the ones to get if your after the lowest noise. Cant say im any fan (no pun intended :p) of sunon fans though, from what ive heard of them, the sunon 120*120*38 fan is louder, and doesnt push as much air as my YStech.

SilenX fans are a crock. Their sound measuring "techniques" involve testing the DBa's farther away from the fan than any other company does. Look for [honest] reviews of SilenX fans and you'll find that a lottt of people don't like them.

I'm not lazy. However "honest" reviews following what you say seem to elude me.
Got some linkage?

EDIT:
Even if they are good fans this here is pretty bad

Panasonic say Panaflo fans can run at 7 - 13.8 volts. Shouldnt have any problems with speed changes.

it's not exactly a secret. panasonic puts up their own numbers, and i have not seen anyone measure values TOO far off of what panasonic rates at.

delta also makes really good fans that last a long time, and although they are know for their super loud, super high performance units, they make a whole range of fans.

i've not had very good luck with sunon fans. they died quickly.

i also like panaflo fans.

Are Nexus "Real Silent" fans not good? or do they not push enough air to be spectacular?
depends on what your priorities are. dial down a panaflo low, and it is pretty damn quiet.

the nexus comes out of the box quiet.

Get yourself a vantec tornado 80mm and after that. EVERYTHING is quiet. lol You'll be deaf from hearing that thing for more then 5 minutes. I have 2 of them an 80mm and a 92mm, and they were quickly replaced. Now I just have those sitting around. Trying to figure out what to do with the damn things. I could speed control them with something but it seems a little pointless.

I used to run a system with a Delta EHE 60mm fan (54.5 dba) and 3 Delta EHE 80mm case fans (52.5 dba each).

Now that was loud :p

And everyone is forgetting PAPST fans...some would go as far as saying they are better than panaflo's.

for myself, i base what i reccomend on what i can get and what i have tried. i can't really get papst(without going through the headache of importing them), i have not tried papst, so i don't reccomend papst.

papst fans are excellent, but it all depends on how much money you would like to spend. If you're after complete silence and don't care much for anything else there are some other brands (SilenX, papst, nexus, etc) that are all really good, but for the bang for the buck i haven't seen a fan beat the panaflo Lx

What do you think of fans that have and aluminum housing? Are they just for looks?

For instance, I found these:

oh, and I dont really like the Panaflo because you cannot monitor fan speed, and I do not believe you can adjust the fan speed either.
Does anyone have any feedback on my question?

also...

Just so you guys know (regarding the Panaflow RPM detection):

"Note that despite the 3 pin connector, this fan does NOT support RPM monitoring. The 3rd wire only supplies an On/Off signal."

fans with aluminium housings, in the sizes used for computer cooling, are just for looks.

panaflo BX series fans support RPM signal. i don't know where you got that info from, but for and example the panaflo 80mm "high" FBA08A12H1BX fan supports RPM monitoring, whereas the 80mm "high" FBA08A12H1A does not.

Did you hang it out the window to silence it? lol sheesh.

lol :p.

Thats was great cooling though. AXP 1800+ @ 2050+ w/ 1.85v. And full load temps of 35C. Ahhhhh, the good old days.

I order all my fans from jab-tech and their panaflos do come with RPM monitoring (the BX series anyway). Not to mention they're an insanely good company with great prices :D
