Hey
That looks practically identical (from memory :) ) to my 9800pro.

My bet is it's a 9800 series card.

9800 series most definately and probably a pro.

Look on the gpu, clean the muck off and tell use what it says. It's probably a R350 or R360 which is a 9800np/p and then a 9800xt in that order.

My guess is a 9800 pro with either cores.

yes

looks like a 9800 series b/c of the power connector.

why not just plug it in and power up and let windows tell you what it is?

The other thing that marks it as a likely 9800 (as opposed to the 95/9700 series) is the 5.25" Molex connector. Earlier cards most often used the 3.5" floppy connector for power; this changed when a number of people complained that their system didn't have a spare 3.5" connector.

Preferably with the heatsink on :D

Im nit an ATI owner, but isnt there a number on the core? Tell the others that, if there is and they can tell you what model it is.

r360 core which makes it a 9800 pro, still cant test it yet without a fan though

R360 is 9800xt core dude but there are 9800pros with r360 cores because they are rejected XT's that become pros so they dont get wasted.

Thad be an awsome find if it worked. Get a fan off here and see if it does. Where did you find it DD btw?

what kind of fool would throw that away. *tear drips down cheek* what has humanity come to. :D

9500np...maybe?
The 9500np has a different power plug, the older smaller one. Good guess though, it looks damn close to my 9500np I just sold.

found behind some law building city hall , saw computer cables hanging out of a box in the dumpster

dived in, and long and behold A RADEON wit a RED PCB!

Pretty hard to guess seeing how its been the most popular card over the last several years...

dude I had a feeling it was a 9800 pro, but by which brand ? BBA, sapphire , is it the non pro or the pro ? or is just a 9600xt

i wasnt sure

theres always a thread crapping egocentric poster...

yeah - I say 9800Pro also. A _lot_ like the 9700Pro in looks, but with the four pin molex connector for the extra power.

actually i cleaned off the leftover thermal grease and stuck a vga silencer on it .

runs great! but doesnt overlock for shit

I guess that's why somebody threw it in the garbage

*note to self: hang out behind buildings where rich, stupid people live, and, or work -- be certain to routinely check their garbage*

yep, I was on my lunch break and I saw usb cables , so i was grabbed a milk crate and peeked in the dumpster. There it was in all its glory. I looked around and then I dove. I didnt really care who was looking or how i might smell when i get back to the office.

I just wanted that radeon

haha

Have you figured out if it works yet? Time to put an ATI Silencer or a Zalman (or if you can find one cheap/free even an ATI stock cooler) and give that puppy a test.
