What's your price range?
I like Quartet boards, not sure the different sizes they make them in as the one I used to use was something like 4'x3'.
These day's I'm using a clear glass board with a white background layer and I love how easy it is to clean and how smoothly I can write on it. No idea who the manufacturer of the board is, though.

Are you going to buy new, in this economy? If you can find a business auction or a wholesaler; or even at Goodwill or similar store, you should be able to buy a giant whiteboard for cheap.
If you're doing this at home, you might look into getting whiteboard panels and attaching them directly to the wall. One of the to-do items in our remodel is to replace the mirrors in the closet doors in my office room with panels of dry-erase material, so I'll have a 8 foot by 15 foot whiteboard.

Just go to a Home Depot or a Lowes and find a melamine board. That might not be the name (might be particle board?), but it is the name of the substance on the board. They come in like 8x4 foot pieces at like $15 each. I just ended up sticking them on the wall of my apartment with a whole bunch of those 3M pulltabs (it took a lot...) but if you're willing to do a little woodwork, you can definitely make yourself a very nice whiteboard with a little rack at the bottom to hold markers and stuff. Or just be like me and stick the board up there for writing only.
Just be careful about using the whiteboard if you decide to buy yourself a board and stick it up on the wall without any frames, because at the end of the last school year, when I had to move out of my apartment, I took down the board and noticed a very dark outline of where the board's edges used to be on my wall... So I had to get that all erased before I moved.

I like that white panel idea. I have a sliding glass closet door. I am thinking maybe I will cover up the outer part with a custom fit panel and just use that, only problem is I think it might wiggle when I write on it. Im not worried about my wall being messed up, I already am repainting it from where my futon banged up against the wall too many times, don't ask why.
I'm gonna check craigs list around here. I'm looking to spend around $250 at the most.

If you don't get a proper white board, make sure you erase it regularly. Proper white boards are made of porcelain, which is very resistant to the ink soaking in, whereas the cheapo melamine is not.
