my brother has a gateway solo 1400 laptop. about a month ago,he started having problems with it taking a while to boot up. then the screen just started going white and nothing else would happen. he decided it was a harddrive problem and went out and bought a new one. well, he still has nothing but a white screen. anyone know why this is happening? any way to fix it? thanks!
 
Well you have a gateway and they have really good support. They are really the only PC company i would buy a computer from. Call tech support. This is not a problem you wnat to try to fix yourself. You paid for the warrenty, you should use it. very simply they may just replace the laptop

can i ask why you would ever want to try to fix it yourself? gateway also has awsome tech support and not to say they are an american based company who does not outsource
