if i wanted a black case, but i couldn't get a black case, would a super cheap solution be spray paint? would it look ok?
 
If it is a metal or alumium case, then yes spray paint or powercoat it(there are a lot of good guides, just do a search). If the case is plastic then use vinyl paint.

i think you meant powDercoat... not powercoat :p
 
That's a great guide. At this very momment, I've primed my cases 2 times using that guide (and doing part 2 in a few days). 2 things though - let the primer dry over night, or for at least 5-6 hours. Many other people say a lot more though, but I did fine today. second, 2 primer's are good but unless your case is near perfect, you may want to do more than that. My case is very old and already had scratches so I'm going to do 4 or so times.
