I'm in a tough perdicament. I've got a brand new E8500 I ordered b/c of a good sale that I am second guessing. I think I may sell it....bottom line is I can only keep 1 cpu.

The only thing I do is game and watch dvds...no mulit-tasking or video encoding

So keep my Q6600 that only overclocks to 3.0ghz

or

keep the E8500 that can overclock to 3.8ghz

EDIT: I AM SELLING MY NEW RETAIL E8500 E0 STILL SEALED. PM ME FOR DETAILS
 
For gaming and movies, go with E8500. Neither of those applications are really geared towards the quad.
 
Keep the Quad, you'll be more future-proof as applications get more multi-threaded. Send the E8500 to me.

(Actually I agree with Parker, E8500 better for games/movies, but I already have a quad) :D
 
I am going to keep the quad. Finally got it to 3.2ghz stable. I've noticed that GRID even uses all 4 cores:D

Sad thing is I just bought this E8500 and won't even open it. Now I've got to sell it for a loss for my stupidity lol.
