Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
I am looking for a 802.11g adapter for a laptop. I would prefer mini-pci, but PCMCIA would work also. Is there a list of what is known to work with Ubuntu or Debian?
I'm using an Intel IPW2200 myself, since thats the only one we can get working with the badly configured campus network here. It is a Mini-PCI card. I haven't set it up with debian myself, but I do know a few people who have. I'm using Gentoo myself.
Got a Dell laptop about a month ago with an IPW2200. Works great under Mepis, PCLinuxOS, Backtrack, and a few other Live CD distros. (Had to add a SLAX module to the KillBill edition to get it to work) Haven't done a HD install yet (going to swap a larger drive into it) but don't foresee any issues. Good card.
BTW, I believe you have to use a secondary repository for the ipw2200 firmware if your using debian, due to their free/opensource software policy, and the firmware has a special license from Intel which doesn't meet there requirements. I'm sure you can find a howto threw google pretty quick.
