Working on 2 system builds for kids christmas, what are the best video cards currently that operate directly from PCI-E, without needing external power? Trying to avoid new power supplies :)
 
technically, nvidians holds that title with the 750 ti. but you will get better perf/dollar with the 260x which requires a 6pin
 
What power supplies are you planning on using. I'm happy to recommend the 750Ti as Fixedmy7970 suggested but we need to be realistic here.
 
I think all 750 Ti's (at least non-reference) have a 6 pin power port (I have the EVGA ACS 2GB 750ti FTW but have looked at a lot of them). The regular GTX 750 has no external power needed. Some Ti's may not have it, but they will probably be at or below stock clocks.
