The background to my question is that this last Sunday evening, during the ice storm that hit Oklahoma, a co-worker had a tree fall into his house crashing into his kids bedroom. A number of us at work have taken to helping to make their Christmas a bit more pleasant. Naturally, I graciously :D offered to build a computer out of some spare parts I have about my home. All them damn [H]ot Deals I keep spending money on can finally be put to use.:D

I am trying to figure out which video card to give the computer, I have an EVGA 8600 GTS and a Visiontek HD2600 Pro, I bought both of these to use in a HTPC build and outside of that use, have no idea how well they perform. The component list I have thus far is as follows:
Intel E6600
Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L mobo
2GB Team Group DDR2-6400
Seagate 160GB SATA hard drive
Samsung 18X DVD Burner
Enermax 460W PSU
Cooler Master Mid-tower case
Acer 19" LCD Monitor

The computer will be used pretty much strictly by the kids but I don't for see them straining the system as the they are 5 and 6 respectively no Crysis or COD4 for them yet.

Thanks in advance for your input.
