Hey there, folks. I'm in desperate need of a new VGA fan for my ATI Radeon 9700 Pro. The stock is on it's last few hours and so I need YOUR help to tell me which is the better cooler.

Should I grab the ARCTIC COOLING VGA SILENCER REV3 COOLER http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=11424&vpn=AVC-1000&manufacture=Arctic Cooling

OR

The ARCTIC COOLING ATI SILENCER 1 REV.2 VGA COOLER
http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=14252&vpn=AVC-AT1(REV.2)&manufacture=Arctic%20Cooling

Thanks so much guys.

Thanks. Know a cheap store that will ship to Canada? http://www.ncix.com is a good store that ships to Canada, but I know that there MUST be a cheaper place. Even newegg.com has a ridiculous price for the Zalman which shocks me.

Hey, I agree with all of you and your opinions, but since I'm still in high school and have no job cuz I'm a lazy bum, I just decided to get the VANTEC ICEBERQ4 COPPER VGA COOLER. It's cheaper, and is louder than my vacuum running at 6000RPM, but its better than my stock which is gonna go any hour now. Again, thanks to all.

would thre zalman vu700 be better than my stock 6800 ultra reference cooler? and I would leave the zalman @ max speeds 24/7 anyways...so will it? and is there a comparison?

For the 6600GT AGP, the IceStorm NV43AGP is definitely the best aircooled setup you can buy. Sure it costs a bit more, but that's because it's made in small batches with the best materials in the USA, not mass produced with low quality parts in China.

As for cooling a 6800 Ultra, the Zalman is a bad choice, as it has poor memory cooling performance. Look into one of the NV68 IceStorms or H20 cooling. :)

the 6800 ultra cooler is pretty damn good, the only difference you would notice is that the zalman wont be as loud, it would cool just as good as the 6800 ultra's cooler but not any better.

I'm using a VF700AlCu on my 6800GT and it's quieter, even at a full 12v, than my stock cooler, and my load temps are about 6-8 degrees less than when I was running stock. Cooler and quieter, worth every cent. The straight copper version performs a "little" bit better, but exceeds the recommended weight for an AGP card, and if my $400 video card cracked in half and lost its warranty due to my $45 fan I'd be pretty upset ^.^

Some numbers for the google-impaired:

the cu model is only 270grams, those icestorm someone mentioned can be 800grams. the lightest model they have is 500grams. sorry way too much weight imo.

well, I decided to stick with stock for my ultra..I ripped the little metal plate cover on it, stuck a 80mm fan on it and I am happy :)
