I'm thinking about trying keepass but don't know which version to get?

Do I have to put this on each machine? Once the passwords are recorded, how do I get them all on the other machines.

I would prefer NOT to have to have the jump drive everytime.

Thoughts?

As a former KeePass user (I will not say anything bad about it as it is an excellent product) I have switched over to using LastPass and has been pretty awesome. I switched mostly because of multi computer access (LastPass syncs all your computers automagically in a secure way) and they also have website access in case all you have is a browser.

To answer your question directly, you'll need a version of KeePass for each platform you want to access your password vault on. When I was using KeePass I had KeePass 1.x for Windows, KeePassX for Linux, KeePass for BlackBerry, and KeePassDroid for Android. I used the 1.x version of KeePass because it seemed to be more compatible with other KeePass versions.

So if your going to use KeePass you need to use a usb drive or you need to do some sort of sync (a la DropBox or similar).

I switched from Keepass to lastpass. However, lastpass was recently hacked, and it made me think twice about putting sensitive passwords in it.

To be fair, they said that there MAY have been an unauthorized access and put out an announcement as a precaution (which is far better than what Sony did around the same time). They pointed out that even if someone had compromised the server that everything is encrypted anyway. I can put a measure of trust in companies that are going to be straight forward with me.

I use keepass for financial sites like banking, rest I use lastpass. Best of both worlds.

I've been using StickyPassword for several years now. You can access your passwords on another computer via a USB key with the advantage of not leaving any files on that computer. In other words, it's portable. It has a lot of other features, too, that are worth checking out.

I use Keepass and Dropbox. I've been a bit wary (and paranoid) if passwords are online in one place. Like someone said above, Lastpass was recently hacked.

I have a backup of my Keepass database on a USB stick, a TrueCrypt drive, and then Dropbox. Keepass keeps my passwords for MMOs, websites, web and database servers, and even CD/Product keys.
